|Crappie||Fair||7 to 16 inches||Did not have any reports of fish being caught this week, however, would try fishing around the public fishing dock and the private boat slips using jigs and jigs tipped with minnows. Would also try around the fish attractors and in the coves.|
|Saugeye/Walleye||Fair||14 to 26 inches||Did not have any reports of fish being caught this week, however, would try fishing in Leota Cove and along the North end of the Dam using jigs and jigs with worms. Also, try up to the west end, off the point just south of the Park office and up by the Marsh Dike. Also heard of some short fish being caught, therefore, remember the 18 inch length limit. Stocked 45,000 Saugeye in on 05-18-2015.|
|Wiper||Fair||15 to 28 inches||Did have reports of fish being caught in Leota Cove, point South of the Park Office and along the North end of the Dam using jigs and jigs with worms. Stocked 45,000 wiper fry in on 05-04-2015.|
|Catfish||Fair||14 to 30 inches||Did have a reports of fish being caught off the public fishing dock, off the point south of the office and east bank of Schoen's Cove using worms on the bottom. Also heard for some fish being caught on limb lines up by the sandpit using live bait.|
|Largemouth/Spotted Bass||Fair||10 to 20 inches||Did have reports of fish being caught this week along the dam and in Leota Cove using artificial plastic baits and crankbait's. Also catching some using jig and minnow's under a bobber. Remember there is a 15" length limit on all bass.|
WATER TEMPERATURE- 75 Degree's.
SURFACE ELEVATION- 2288.13 ---- 16.17' below conservation
Currently, the water level is 0.39 feet lower than it was one year ago at this time.
The KDWPT Fisheries Division video committee recently re-released the 24-minute video titled Fisheries Management in Kansas. Originally released in 2002, the video details techniques used by agency fisheries management and hatchery personnel to create and maintain quality fishing opportunities across the state. Remember it is illegal to release any fish into public water unless it was taken from that water! Therefore, please discard leftover bait in a trash can.
