Waterfowl numbers iSportsman (electronic daily hunt permit system) will be required of all hunters this fall.  There will not be any cards available this year, so please set up an iSportsman account prior to this hunting season.  10,000 ducks, mostly shovelers and teal.  Few nesting pairs of Canada geese
Water level iSportsman (electronic daily hunt permit system) will be required of all hunters this fall.  There will not be any cards available this year, so please set up an iSportsman account prior to this hunting season.  Pool 1A is near 26", 1B and 1C are around 26".  Pool 2 is near 14", Pool 3A is about dry, 3B is about dry, 4A is 8", 4B is about dry, and Pool 5 is dry. 
Hunting conditions

iSportsman (electronic daily hunt permit system) will be required of all hunters this fall.  There will not be any cards available this year, so please set up an iSportsman account prior to this hunting season.  Burned cattails in Pool 5 on 2/14/18.  Almost all cattails in Pool 5 have been disked at least twice.  Pools 3A, 3B, and 4B are drying out and about ready for work. 

Burned about 1,500 acres of uplands and small wetlands in Pool 5 and 3B. 

Use the foot crossings along the 3B/4A road, 3A, and along 4B as channels have been dug out for de-watering and are very deep.

LEGAL SHOOTING HOURS ARE 30 MINUTES BEFORE SUNRISE TO SUNSET.

UNLAWFUL TO SHOOT FROM ROADS OR DIKES ON THE WILDLIFE AREA.

DO NOT PARK BLOCKING ROADS, GATES, BOAT RAMPS, FOOT CROSSINGS, ETC.

NO TRASH POLICY ON THE WILDLIFE AREA.

ISABEL - Last Updated: 2/15/2018

Waterfowl numbers Approximately 400 geese - mostly Canadas, a few whietfronts.
Water level The west pool adjacent to Hwy. 42 is nearly dry.  The main lake is 75% full.  The pool south of the main lake is dry, and there is a small amount of water to the east of that on the east side of the county road.
Hunting conditions  
Expected hunting success Regular duck season (Low Plains Late Zone) is Oct. 28-Dec. 31, 2017 and Jan. 20-28, 2018.

KDWPT IMPLEMENTED AN ELECTRONIC PERMIT SYSTEM STARTING THE 2015-2016 HUNTING SEASONS

PAPER PERMITS ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE AT ISABEL WETLANDS. iSportsman WILL BE USED EXCLUSIVELY ON THIS AREA IN 2017-2018.

Only non-toxic shot is allowed on Isabel Wetland Wildlife Area for all species.



TEXAS LAKE - Last Updated: 1/18/2018

Waterfowl numbers No waterfowl observed 1/18.  100% ice-covered.
Water level Pools 1, 2, & 6, 7, & 8 are full.  There is water north of pool 6.  Pool 9 is 20% full.
Hunting conditons 100% ice-covered.  Duck season has closed. This site will be updated if any geese start using the area.
Expected hunting success Regular duck season (Low Plains Early Zone) is Oct. 7 - Dec. 3, 2017 and Dec. 16-31, 2017.
