How many state parks are there in Kansas?

The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks manages 25 state parks, now that the Prairie Spirit Trail has been officially recognized as a state park. When the Kaw River State Park, near Topeka, opens, there will be 26 state parks for Kansans to enjoy. View the State Parks page for more information.

Abundant regal fritillary butterflies show that the prairie habitat is in great shape at Maxwell Game Refuge near Canton. Visit KDWP wildlife areas for the best of the Kansas outdoors.
