Lake News

Although hot days and a decreased amount of spring rains have caused lake levels to remain low this spring and summer, there is still plenty of fishing opportunity at Pottawatomie State Lake No. 2. While on the area keep in mind that we are a No Alcohol lake and that swimming is not allowed. Also a no trash policy is enforced on the area and anything brought with you should be taken out with you. Enjoy the summer months and try to stay cool and hydrated!

History

The Lake was created by a 1953 donation from Dr. and Mrs. Robert L. Freidrich of Manhattan. The donation included 247 acres of Flint Hills land in southwest Pottawatomie County, specifically dedicated to future development of a recreational lake and park. In 1955, the department completed a 75-acre lake.
