Norton Waterfowl Report -
Waterfowl numbers

50 big ducks, 75 teal on the lake. 100 geese. 500 coots.

Mallard Migration 1   (1= low 10= high)

Water level Sebelius Reservoir has come up nearly 4 feet this fall.  Lake is still approximately 13 feet below normal pool.
Hunting conditions With the increase water level there is plenty of flooded vegetation along the shoreline and is providing good habitat for waterfowl. Some cranes have showed up around the reservoir. The area has lost the majority of its birds the last few days. Some of the local goose population has hung around for the opener this weekend but most migrated off the area.
Expected hunting success Low success is expected for ducks and geese. A good coot hunt is possible.
Norton Reservoir is in the HIGH PLAINS DUCK ZONE
