2014 Dove Management Fields and Maps

All 5 designated dove management areas described below will require NON-TOXIC SHOT for the 2014 dove season. This includes all areas within ¼ mile of managed fields. If hunters choose to hunt other locations on the WA not specifically managed for doves, non-toxic shot will not be required.  All managed dove areas will have mowed parking areas and mowed walking trails to the fields.

County Line Fields- 3 miles east of Downs and south of highway 24. One 30 acre sunflower field near the south parking lot and one 5 acre wheat field just east of the sunflowers. 

Cawker City Fields- 1 mile south/ southwest of Cawker City just south of the old airport location. One 16 acre sunflower field and one 5 acre wheat field to the NW of sunflowers. This FIELD WILL BE RESERVED ON THE MORNING OF SEPTEMBER 1 FOR OUR YOUTH DOVE HUNT. At noon on Sept. 1 the field will open to Youth and Mentor Hunting until Sept. 7. During this time, adults may only hunt the field if they have a youth 17 or younger hunting with them. On Sept. 9 the field will be open to all hunters for the remainder of the season. Hunters may park at the grain bins south of Cawker City and walk over the dike to the field, or they can use the parking area 1/4 mile south of Hwy 24 immediately west of Cawker City.

Mill Creek Fields- 4 miles south and 1/2 mile east of Cawker City. Several sunflower fields that total 22 acres.

North Granite Creek Fields- 1 mile north of Highway 24 on C Rd. at the far north end of the property.  3 sunflower fields that total 20 acres.  There will also be a 5 acre wheat field located on the east side of the Granite Creek Cove that can be accessed from either the north or east.

Glen Elder Field-¼ mile south of Glen Elder below the dam.  One 5 acre field of burned wheat.

Mandatory Hunter Survey Cards will be required during the first few days of the dove hunting season and will be available at each field.
