Dove Hunting

This year Rutlader WA has approximately 25 acres of managed dove fields for hunting. The areas are located off 169 HWY, Exit 223, 7 miles South of Louisburg next to the Rutlader Theatre. Rutlader WA has 6 fields managed for doves. They include 14 acres of Sunflowers and 11 acres of wheat. Field 1 which is East of The Rutlader Theatre is signed-up in the KDWPT Special Hunts program. To be eligible for the Special Hunt on Field 1 click here: Special Hunts. The Special Hunts will be open to 3 different hunters per afternoon for the first two days of the season(September 1 and 2). The Hunt will start at 1:00pm and end at sunset. Hunters that are awarded the hunt will need to pay attention to all signs. Field 1 will close to all gun hunting after Monday, September 2. The area will be open to archery hunting only after Monday, September 2. Field 2 and 3 are open to all public, but a free daily dove permit will be required. Permits and permit station will be located by the brown Kiosk directly across from the theater. Habitat: Fields 1,2, and 3 are sunflower fields with wheat close by. The sunflowers did not do outstanding, but did produce seed and should offer some decent hunting opportunity.

Deer Hunting

Archery ONLY- The Dove Field #1 will be archery only after September 2nd. We will only be allowing dove hunting on the area for the first two days of the season.
