SPECIAL HUNT APPLICATIONS DUE JULY 15

Limited hunts on Wildlife and Parks land offer some of the best opportunities in the state

PRATT -- The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) reminds hunters interested in its annual special hunts that the deadline for application is July 15. These are some of the most rewarding hunts in Kansas, offering a number of special, limited-draw hunts on KDWP land. Dozens of specially-planned hunts for upland birds, doves, waterfowl, and deer are available in this drawing. There is no charge for the hunts.

Many of these hunts provide opportunities on public areas that are normally closed to hunting. By limiting the number of hunters on these areas, the department offers a special hunting experience not always found on a public wildlife area. Most of the hunts are open to all hunters, but some are designed specifically to accommodate young hunters.

Descriptions, locations, and hunt dates are outlined in an application booklet available at KDWP offices, county clerk's offices, and most license vendors, as well as the KDWP website. This year, hunters can submit their applications online. Access the special hunts booklet and the online application here .
