PARTNERS OFFER SHOOTING SKILLS EVENT FOR WOMEN MAY 13

Event designed to improve women's skills in all types of firearms shooting

CHANUTE -- On May 13, the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, the Kansas State Rifle Association, and Lil' Toledo Lodge will sponsor Shooting Skills for Women Day at the Lil' Toledo Lodge, 10600 E. 170th Road, south of Chanute. The event begins at 9 a.m. and runs through 3 p.m.

The day will offer an opportunity for women to learn to shoot both rifles and shotguns safely. Shooting demonstrations -- including muzzleloaders and handguns -- will also be included, and participants will have plenty of hands-on shooting time to sharpen skills.

The event is for women only. No previous experience is required; firearms, ammunition, and lunch will be provided.

Held in a safe, controlled, scenic environment, the Shooting Skills for Women Day promises to be a fun way to learn shooting skills in a friendly atmosphere. The registration fee is $25. To pre-register, phone 620-672-5911 and ask for Stacy in Hunter Education.
