WOMEN’S RECREATIONAL SHOOTING DAY AT FANCY CREEK SHOOTING RANGE APRIL 8

A day of safe, fun shooting sports just for women
MANHATTAN -- On Saturday, April 8, the National Rifle Association's Women On Target program from Women of the NRA will conduct a shooting event for women ages 16 and older. The event will be held from 8 a.m. through 3 p.m. at the Fancy Creek Range in the Tuttle Creek State Park, near Randolph.

This is not a competitive event, but participants will be given instruction in rifle, handgun, and shotgun shooting. No experience is necessary, but shooters of all levels are welcome. Firearms and ammunition will be provided, but participants may bring their own firearms. Certified instructors and range safety officers will be on duty.

Although the event is for women 16 and older, moms with school-age children need not worry; AMERICORPS volunteers will supervise a program for the youngsters in the park adjoining the range.

The fee is $15, but two friends may register together for $20 total. To register or for more information, phone 785-532-7409 or email email frodo@kansas.net . The registration fee covers instruction, range fees, firearms, ammunition, targets, eye and ear protection, snacks and lunch. Attendance is limited, so advance registration is required.
