SNOW, ICE STORMS POSTPONE SOME CHRISTMAS BIRD COUNTS

Events held across Kansas; open to all bird enthusiasts

Snow and ice storms have resulted in postponement of several Kansas Christmas Bird Counts. Organizers will try to reschedule when possible, depending on personal schedules and travel conditions. To keep track of the revised bird count scheduling, visit the Kansas Ornithological Society website.

Christmas Bird Counts -- popular annual events for birders around Kansas and the U.S. -- help biologists glean information on bird population trends and give wildlife enthusiasts a chance to search for their favorite birds. Some of these events may require a small fee to participate. Dates, locations, and contacts for upcoming bird counts are listed below.
