2008 KANSAS HUNTING ATLAS ONLINE

Atlas locates all Walk-In, public access land in Kansas
PRATT – The 2008 Kansas Hunting Atlas, which includes maps showing locations of Walk-In Hunting Access (WIHA) and other public hunting areas, is now available online at the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) website, www.kdwp.state.ks.us. Printed copies of the atlas will be available in late August at KDWP offices and hunting license vendors around the state.

The atlas provides 30 full-page maps covering all of the state’s 105 counties. Online visitors can view and print the complete atlas or select specific maps. Each map includes an index listing the game species most likely to occur on WIHA properties.

All 2008 hunting seasons have been set except late-migrating waterfowl seasons, which will be established in a public hearing of the Kansas Wildlife and Parks Commission Aug. 14 at the Hoisington Activity Center, 106 N. Main in Hoisington. Season dates for all other species are available on the KDWP website. Click "Hunting," "When To Hunt," and "Sportsmen's Calendar" for details.
