PHEASANTS FOREVER CHAPTER PLANS OUTDOOR FAMILY FUN DAY

Geocaching, target shooting, hunting a few of the events on tap
BALDWIN CITY — On Saturday, Oct. 3, the Johnson County Chapter of Pheasants Forever will conduct an all-inclusive event titled the Outdoor Family Fun Day and Rick Funk Memorial Youth and Women’s Hunt. The event will take place at Eckman’s Hunting Preserve, 988 E. 1800 Road, Baldwin City, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The following activities are planned for the day:

  • target shooting;
  • casting challenges;
  • shooting instruction;
  • archery range;
  • geocaching;
  • dog training seminars;
  • wildlife/educational activities; and
  • lunch and raffles.

Participants in the youth hunt must be 12 through 15 years old, have an adult sponsor, and have a Hunter Education Certificate. All youth participants will be eligible for a Kansas lifetime hunting license that will be raffled at next year’s banquet.

Women’s hunt participants must be novice hunters and have a valid hunting license.
