Fur Harvester Rendezvous Oct. 2-4

PRATT – The Kansas Fur Harvesters Association (KFHA) invite you and your family to attend a fun and informative State Rendezvous Oct. 2-4 in Seneca. Whether you’re an experienced trapper, a novice coyote caller, or simply someone interested in Kansas furbearers, this three-day event is sure to be worth the trip. Visitors need not be a KFHA member to attend.

The event will kick off Friday at 6:30 a.m. with breakfast. Buildings will open at 8 a.m. where experienced furharvesters will conduct nine demonstrations, including otter trapping techniques, snare making, and advanced predator methods. The day’s events will conclude with a bean feed at 6 p.m.

Festivities will continue on Saturday with another 6:30 a.m. breakfast, followed by demonstrations each hour from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and again at 3 p.m. through 5 p.m. At 2 p.m. women can participate in a skillet toss competition or try their luck at the 2:30 p.m. trap setting contest open to all. After demonstrations, attendees can enjoy a pulled pork supper, followed by the KFHA’s general meeting, awards program, fur show, and more.

On Sunday, attendees can enjoy breakfast at 6 a.m. and check out different displays and tables until noon.

Throughout the weekend rendezvous, as many as 16 unique vendors will be on hand, providing tips and displaying their latest products, including Prairie Wind Lures, E-Z Traps, and Kansas Trapline Supply.
