Ruddy Ducks in Kansas
Which Kansas lake has the best population of big walleye?

According to the 2010 Kansas Fishing Forecast, Cheney is the top walleye lake in the state. It has the highest density of fish over 15 inches, as well as the top rating for fish longer than 20 inches (there is a 21-inch minimum length limit and a two-fish daily limit on walleye at Cheney). For true lunkers -- fish longer than 25 inches -- Hillsdale Reservoir is number one. To learn more about sport fish populations in our lakes and reservoirs, view the Fishing Forecast page.
