NEOSHO WILDLIFE AREA STAFF PLAN PUBLIC MEETING AUG. 29 IN ST. PAUL

Past, present and future management of area to highlight discussion

ST. PAUL - The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks will conduct a public meeting Tuesday, Aug. 29 to discuss the past, present and future management of the Neosho Wildlife Area. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the Osage Mission Neosho County Museum in St. Paul.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. Topics of discussion will include habitat conditions at the wildlife area, expected fall flight forecast, renovation projects completed this summer, regulation changes for this season, a U.S Fish And Wildlife Service video highlighting estimates of waterfowl populations for the 2006 fall migration, and management plans for the future. The special teal season opens September 9. The opening date for the regular waterfowl season is October 28.
