OUTDOOR KANSAS KIDS DAY

Activities for everyone highlight free event
MELVERN -- OK Kids day is designed to give youngsters and their parents a greater appreciation of Kansas outdoor resources. Eisenhower State Park has joined forces with Pomona State Park to make this year’s event better than ever. The event will take place at Melvern Reservoir's Eisenhower State Park on May 13.

A fishing derby will start at 8:15 a.m., and other outdoor activities begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m., with a break for free lunch at 12:30 p.m. Activities this year include canoeing, Honda Sport Track, a petting zoo, face painting, wildlife identification, kite flying, tie dying, weather safety demonstrations, clay shooting, archery, bird dog demonstrations, turkey and duck calling, air rifles, camping demonstrations, a rock-climbing wall, a DUI demonstration, a medical helicopter, and much more.

This event is free to everyone thanks to Kansas Wildscape , the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, the Conrad Carlson Youth Memorial Fund, Quail Unlimited, Branine Motors, Bass Pro Shops, and other local sponsors.
