CHEYENNE BOTTOMS ANNUAL MEETING AUGUST 15

Marsh conditions, fall migration, planned visitor center on agenda
GREAT BEND -- Cheyenne Bottoms Wildlife Area staff will conduct an informational meeting Tuesday, August 15 at Barton County Community College. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in Room F-30 of the Fine Arts Building.

Area manager Karl Grover and staff will review expected marsh conditions for the fall migration and an update on progress of the planned Kansas Wetlands Education Center. A U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service video program will be shown, summarizing the status of waterfowl in 2006. In addition, information on the status of avian influenza will be discussed. The meeting is free and open to the public.
