KANSAS EAGLE DAYS EVENTS SPOTLIGHT NATIONAL SYMBOL

Once nearly extirpated from the state, Kansas boasts a healthy bald eagle population

Each winter, bald eagles migrate into Kansas, providing bird watchers the chance to observe one of the nation's most spectacular birds. To improve opportunities to view the U.S. national symbol, the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) -- in cooperation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and local Audubon chapters -- has scheduled a number of "Eagle Days" across the state.

If you missed the events at Tuttle Creek Reservoir on Jan. 6th and the events at Milford Reservoir on Jan. 13 -14, or would like an opportunity to attend another Eagle Days event, you still have one more chance.

At Clinton Reservoir, the Corps of Engineers will offer eagle viewing tours on Jan. 21 at 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The tours will begin at the Clinton Lake Corps Project Office with a short eagle discussion before traveling to Clinton State Park to view the eagles.
