Wildlife & Parks Commission sets fees for 2008

The Kansas Wildlife and Parks Commission approved changes in fees for rental of some state park cabins, effective Jan. 1, 2008. The changes include several new cabins that will become available in 2008. Cheney and Kanopolis State Park cabin rental fees were increased by $10 per night, while fees are being reduced at Webster State Park. In addition, Eisenhower State Park is offering longer-term use at reduced prices for its primitive cabin and two yurts.

At a public hearing in Colby the evening of Oct. 18th, commissioners approved changes in rental fees for the following affected cabins:

Cedar Bluff State Park (cabins 1 and 2)

• year-round, per night -- $45

Cheney State Park (cabins 1 through 8)

• Sunday through Thursday, year-round, per night -- $55
• Friday and Saturday, May 1 through Sept. 30, per night -- $75
• Friday and Saturday, Oct. 1 through April 30, per night -- $55
• year-round, per week -- $370

Cheney State Park (cabin 9)

• Sunday through Thursday, year-round, per night -- $85
• Friday and Saturday, May 1 through Sept. 30, per night -- $100
• Friday and Saturday, Oct. 1 through April 30, per night -- $85
• year-round, per week -- $570

Eisenhower State Park (cabin 1)

• year-round, for three consecutive nights -- $100
• year-round, per week -- $225

Eisenhower State Park (yurts 1 and 2)

• year-round, for three consecutive nights -- $100
• year-round, per week -- $225

Glen Elder State Park (cabins 1 through 4)

• year-round, per night -- $75
• year-round, per week -- $450

Kanopolis State Park (cabins 1 through 5)

• Sunday through Thursday, year-round, per night -- $55
• Friday and Saturday, April 1 through Sept. 30, per night -- $70
• Friday and Saturday, Oct. 1 through March 31, per night -- $55
• April 1 through Sept. 30, per week -- $400
• Oct. 1 through March 31, per week -- $350

Scott State Park (cabins 1 and 2)

• year-round, per week -- $420

Webster State Park (cabin 1)

• Sunday through Thursday, year-round, per night -- $50
• Friday and Saturday, year-round, per night -- $70
