MAKE CHRISTMAS AN OUTDOOR EVENT WITH KDWP SHOPPING

Magazine, early license sales among many offerings
PRATT -- Each Christmas, the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) offers outdoorsmen and women -- or friends and families looking for gift ideas -- a chance to start the season right by taking advantage of many bargains. A perennial favorite is Kansas Wildlife & Parks magazine. Each issue is packed with the latest information on fishing, hunting, state parks, wildlife watching, and photography, all highlighted by spectacular color photographs. Subscriptions may be purchased at KDWP offices, online at https://www3.wildlifelicense.com/ks/start.php, or by calling toll-free, 800-288-8387. Those using the online method will be taken to a page for purchasing licenses and permits. By following the directions for buying a license, the user will be taken to a page that includes Kansas Wildlife & Parks magazine as a purchase item.

Christmas bargain days began Dec. 15, when all 2009 KDWP licenses, permits, and other issues went on sale and are valid for the remainder of 2008 and all of 2009, adding more than two weeks to their value. This includes hunting, fishing, and park licenses and permits. In addition, park annual vehicle entrance permits are priced at the off-season value, providing even greater savings.

Licenses and permits for 2009 can be purchased online from the KDWP website. They may also be purchased from any KDWP office or license vendor. Some vendors are open 24 hours a day, offering another alternative to online purchases. (Hunters should be aware that big game permits and tags are not valid until the day after purchase.)

For more information, go to the KDWP website or phone 620-672-5911. Make this Christmas a special one for the outdoorsman or woman on your list.
