SCOTT STATE LAKE YOUTH PROGRAM TO GIVE AWAY YOUTH SHOTGUN

Hunting skills seminar will also offer guided hunts and other prizes
SCOTT CITY -- On Aug. 16, the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) will host a youth waterfowl program from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Scott State Park. The program is designed to teach and improve hunting skills, including duck calling, shotgun shooting, trapping techniques, and waterfowl identification. As a bonus, individuals attending the half-day program will have the opportunity to draw from one of 24 guided hunts for duck, geese, turkey, or deer.

Youth must be ages 10 through 16. Sponsors will provide a free lunch for everyone who attends the program. Hats, shirts, and duck calls will be given away, and one lucky youth will win a Remington 870 shotgun from Extreme Fowl of Southwest Kansas.

Participants must pre-register at the KDWP Region 3 Office in Dodge City or phone 620-227-8609. The event is made possible by Pattern Master, Extreme Fowl, Reel Wing Decoys, Mack’s Prairie Wings, Final Approach, Heavy-Shot, The Oasis, Echo Goose and Duck Calls, Real Geese, RNT Calls, and Pheasants Forever of Scott City.
