SPECIES DESCRIPTION

The Wartyback Mussel is an obligate riverine species occurring in clean streams with gravel substrates and moderate currents. Populations are widespread through the streams where found but generally are not abundant at any location. Fish hosts include white crappie, channel and flathead catfish, bluegill, largemouth bass, and black crappie.
