Students must pre-register for the course in order to get directions to complete the online portion of the certification. Either call the contact, an email address may be available or visit www.safehunters.com for online registration for some classes.  Students must complete the online portion of the course (https://programs.ksoutdoors.com/prg/Programs/Hunter-Education-Certification) prior to attending the field day. Each student will be issued a pre-test over the online materials.

All students will be tested over the Internet course material. This pre-test will be administered at the beginning of the Field Day. A passing score of 22 correct answers out of 25 questions is required to proceed with the rest of the course. Students failing to achieve the minimum score of 22 will be dismissed from the class.

The field walk session will be as much like an actual hunt as possible. It is recommended to wear boots or walking shoes and long pants.

Class dates are Aug 28 from 5:30-9pm and Aug 29 from 9-5.

On August 29th, 2015, El Dorado Lake will again host the area’s only all women’s triathlon. This all women’s triathlon event will be a Sprint Distance triathlon starting in the Walnut River Beach area. The 400 meter swim will follow a triangular course in the protected waters of Walnut River beach. The 9.5 mile bike course will follow a circular route throughout the lake and outskirts of El Dorado. The 3 mile run course will be throughout the lake property and along a paved bike trail. Aid stations will be found at every mile along the run course.

Various clinics and training opportunities will be hosted leading up to the event. Expect at least one clinic for each discipline hosted by local triathlon coaches and clubs.
