The chip timed trail run winds through scenic   El Dorado Lake State Park and adjacent private property. The double loop marathon, half marathon and 10K connect to the Teter Nature Trail; with some challenging single track trail. Depending on rainfall expect some wet and muddy crossings. Storm up the dam and enjoy lake views as you run along the lakeshore. Grassy moderate rolling hills of the Boulder Bluff horse trail await you next, work your way through the Walnut Ridge Trail before crossing the finish line near the amphitheater.

The 5K starts with a storm up the dam, enjoy lake views as you run along the shore, find adventure on a short portion of trail course, cross the Walnut River bridge for a final push on paved surface to the finish line.

Each student will be issued a pre-test over the online materials.

All students will be tested over the Internet course material. This pre-test will be administered at the beginning of the Field Day. A passing score of 22 correct answers out of 25 questions is required to proceed with the rest of the course. Students failing to achieve the minimum score of 22 will be dismissed from the class.

The field walk session will be as much like an actual hunt as possible. It is recommended to wear boots or walking shoes and long pants.

Hillsdale Range and Training Facility is pleased to announce a monthly summer training program for novice handgun shooters, both pistol and revolver.

The second Tuesday of every month from 6-8 PM: May 12, June 9, July 14, August 11, September 8.

The fees will be $10 per student for non-members. Members shoot for free.

Instruction will be conducted by NRA certified instructors, and will be a combination of lecture and live fire.
Class will be geared to individuals with limited or no handgun experience who want to learn to shoot, or who may be considering enrolling in a concealed pistol course. however, this is not a concealed pistol course, and we will not deal with any aspect of concealed carry.
The class will focus on safety, shooting stance and technique, adherence to the principles of pistol & revolver shooting, and accurate shot placement on targets at varying distances.
Attendees should bring their favorite pistol or revolver, 100 rounds of ammunition, eye and ear protection, and an appropriate cleaning kit.

Swim Course
Swimmers will start at the Walnut River Beach and complete one loop for the Sprint distance and 2 loops for the Olympic distance race.

Bike Course
The bike route starts at the Walnut River campground and continues out to Boulder Bluff Rd. Rd. The bicycles with then turn right and continue to the turnaround point before 12th St. Cyclists with then turn around and continue along Boulder Bluff Rd. until just before the Boating Dock parking lot. The cyclists will then turn around and continue to Myers Rd. where they will turn right. The turnaround on Myers Rd. will lead cyclists back to Boulder Bluff Rd. where they will again turn right and continue back to the transition area. The Olympic distance participants will then complete a second loop.

Run Course
Runners will head out of the transition area and run a loop around the campground and along the bike path for the Sprint distance race. The course is 2 loops for the Olympic distance race.

Therefore, the discharge of personal fireworks at Lovewell State Park (including the Pioneer Day Use area), Lovewell Wildlife Area, Twin Coves Private Trailer area and Lovewell Private Cabin area is strictly prohibited. On August 29th, 2015, El Dorado Lake will again host the area’s only all women’s triathlon. This all women’s triathlon event will be a Sprint Distance triathlon starting in the Walnut River Beach area. The 400 meter swim will follow a triangular course in the protected waters of Walnut River beach. The 9.5 mile bike course will follow a circular route throughout the lake and outskirts of El Dorado. The 3 mile run course will be throughout the lake property and along a paved bike trail. Aid stations will be found at every mile along the run course.

Various clinics and training opportunities will be hosted leading up to the event. Expect at least one clinic for each discipline hosted by local triathlon coaches and clubs.

The event interprets 1800-1840 with a traditional rendezvous when Mountain Men and American Indians camped together to trade for needed supplies from the fur companies. Activities will include Indian and Mountain Men Encampments, Historical Traders, Blackpowder Shoot, Archery Demo's, Tomahawk Throw, Skillet Throw for the Ladies, and a Kids Gold Rush. Come out to Fall River State Park and step back to 1815.

Head north on yellow, back to the white trail. Continue on the white trail to the first connector to the blue trail at the SE corner of Lake Henry. Head east on blue to the yellow trail. Ascend and descend the Sanders Mound ridge. Head back to the blue trail and take it in to the finish. Description: This 10K/5K Trail Runs will start and finish at the Corp of Engineers Overlook Area.  Running on a section of the hiking / biking trails of the North Shore Hiking / Biking Trails from the Overlook area past our Campground #1 and back.
