Bison For Sale:
The Kansas Dept of Wildlife, Parks & Tourism is currently soliciting sealed bids for the purchase of 5 bison bulls from the Sandsage Bison Range herd located near Garden City, KS. Three of the bulls are mature adults 12 – 13 yrs of age originating from the Wind Cave National Park, SD and National Bison Range, MT herds; the other two are 3.5 yr old sub-adults originally from the Ft. Robinson, NE herd. All animals will be tested for brucellosis, no other testing will be done.
Bids shall be submitted to: Kansas Dept of Wildlife, Parks & Tourism, 512 SE 25th, Pratt, KS 67124, Attention: Purchasing on the enclosed bid sheet. Format of the bids shall be in dollars per pound live weight on each individual animal. The bidder must indicate the $/lb for each animal he wishes to bid on. Completed bid sheets must be received no later than noon Friday November 4, 2011 to be considered. The successful bidder(s) shall be notified within seven days, at which time arrangements to pick up the animal(s) shall be made with the area manager. The purchaser is responsible for transporting the animal(s) off the Bison Range. Pick up of the animals will be scheduled for the period between Nov. 18th and November 23, 2011. Terms: Cash or personal check (accepted if accompanied by notarized authorization letter from issuing bank). Payment is due at the time of pick up once the animal(s) have been weighed.

Instructions: You may bid on more than one animal; however, submit a bid only for the animal(s) you wish to purchase. Each individual animal will be awarded to the bidder with the highest bid placed for it. Bids are on a $/lb live wt. on the day of pickup.
