Waterfowl numbers

Ducks have been observed in the area using ponds extensively. Small numbers of ducks have been observed using Toronto Reservoir. Water levels in wetlands, dependent upon rainfall, are still low to dry. Waterfowl species observed in and around the area include: Canada geese, light geese, gadwall, mallards, green-winged teal.

Duck season for the Low Plains Southeast Zone is from Nov. 11 - Dec. 31, 2017 and Jan. 6-28, 2018. The season for Canada geese and light geese is open now and runs until Feb. 18. The season for white-fronted geese is open now and runs until Dec. 31, when it closes temporarily. It opens again from Jan. 27 to Feb. 28, 2018. The light geese, conservation order season will be from Feb. 19 to Apr. 30, 2018.

Water level Reservoir is 0.22' above conservation pool. The marsh on Hwy 54 remains empty until rain arrives to fill it.
Hunting conditions Reservoir is 100% open.
