KAR 115-18-10 Importation and possession of certain wildlife; prohibition, permit requirement, and restriction Economic Impact Statement. (PDF - 12.54 kB)

White perch exist in two reservoirs in Kansas and are considered a problem species and can spread rapidly within other water bodies if introduced. However, some anglers like to use white perch as bait in those reservoirs to catch other species where white perch already exist. By adding the white perch to the list of prohibited species, anglers would still be able to possess and use white perch so long as those fish are not alive. The Department does not anticipate any other economic impact to the public, other state agencies, or the Department itself due to the addition of these species to the list of prohibited species.
