for anglers and hunters
PRATT -- The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) has announced the opening of two new rental cabins, one at Ottawa State Fishing Lake and the other at Mined Land Wildlife Area's Trout Pit 30.

Ottawa offers one modern rental cabin set apart in a native prairie overlooking the lake. This area charges no entry fees. The cabin is available year-round and will accommodate as many as six overnight guests. The area around the lake provides hiking, wildlife viewing, primitive camping year-round, and a reservable group shelter for family get-togethers.

The lake’s main attraction is fishing, but limited hunting is available, and a few special draw hunts occur annually.

The air conditioned and heated cabin will sleep six comfortably on one queen, three twins, and one full futon beds. Renters must provide their own bedding, pillows, towels, and toiletries. A hot shower, complete kitchen, refrigerator, stovetop, and microwave are included, along with an outdoor patio with gas grill and picnic table. A fire ring is available for evening campfires.

Other amenities include an outside hydrant, kitchen utensils, dishes, pots, pans, and coffee pot.
