Permits allow take of antlerless mule deer or whitetail
PRATT — The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks (KDWP) has announced that Either-Species Antlerless Deer permits are still available in seven units. These permits allow the take of antlerless mule deer or white-tailed deer in any season with equipment legal for the season. They are available on a first come, first-served basis from the KDWP website, www.kdwp.state.ks.us. Click "License/Permits" in the upper right-hand corner of the page, then click the "Buy Your License/Permit Online" button. Permits are also available over the counter wherever licenses are sold.

Resident permits cost $17.50 and are available in the following units, with the number of permits available as of Aug. 6:

  • Unit 1 — 35;
  • Unit 2 — 59;
  • Unit 3 — 19;
  • Unit 4 — 39;
  • Unit 5 — 38;
  • Unit 17 — 68; and
  • Unit 18 — 77.

Nonresident permits cost $77.50 and are available in the following units, with the number of permits available as of Aug. 10:

  • Unit 1 — 10;
  • Unit 2 — 14;
  • Unit 3 — 5;
  • Unit 4 — 7;
  • Unit 5 — 8;
  • Unit 17 — 8; and
  • Unit 18 — 15.
