16th annual event offers team prizes and plenty of fun
WEBBER — The 16th annual Sand Castle/Sculpture Contest at Lovewell State Park, near Webber, is scheduled for Sunday, July 17, at the Southwinds Beach area of the state park. Teams comprising as many as five people can register at the state park office from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday.

Sand castles will be judged at 2 p.m., and prizes will be awarded to the top three sand castles. Those who decide not to enter the contest are still invited to the beach to view these sand art masterpieces. A vehicle permit is required. Daily permits are $4.20, and annual permits are $24.70.
