Lovewell to Host Annual Fun Day August 1

WEBBER – Lovewell State Park staff invite your family to join them on Saturday, August 1 for the park’s annual Lovewell Fun Day. The day’s events will kick off with a 5K and 10K Predict Walk and Run. Registration for the walk and run will open at 7 a.m. at the mud volleyball pit.

Following the walk and run, a co-ed mud volleyball tournament will begin at 10 a.m. This will be a double elimination tournament, with a $20 entry fee per team, and a 10-team limit. Pre-registration for the tournament is required. Teams can sign up at the Lovewell State Park Office or by calling (785) 753-4971 by July 30.

Other events scheduled for the fun day include a sand pile treasure hunt at the Pioneer Day Use area (playground) beginning at 11 a.m., and a rock-paper-scissors tournament at noon at the mud volleyball area.

A vehicle permit is required to enter Lovewell State Park. Daily permits are $5.00, and annual permits are $25.00.
