State Park Facilities Springing Open

PRATT – That’s not a waterfall or the rush of a creek you’re hearing, that’s the sound of running water and other facilities springing open at Kansas state parks. While Kansas state parks remain open to the public year-round, most parks will turn off water during the winter months to maintain efficiency and avoid frozen pipes. Now that the weather is warming up and good times are on the horizon, nearly all Kansas state parks will have water-related amenities available by mid-April.

The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism operates 26 parks around the state. To find one nearest you, visit ksoutdoors.com/State-Parks.

A daily vehicle permit, $5.00, is required to enter any state park and can be purchased upon arrival. Annual park permits area also available for $25.00, providing year-round access at a value, or you can purchase a State Parks Passport for $15 when you register your vehicle.
