KDWPT Thanksgiving Office Schedules

PRATT – Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism (KDWPT) offices will be closed this Thanksgiving holiday, Nov. 23-24, but don’t let that stop you from enjoying the great outdoors. All Kansas state parks and many public wildlife areas will remain open over the holiday so you can still enjoy hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, camping and more with family and friends.

While state park offices will be closed over the holiday, parkgoers can still get required vehicle and camping permits by visiting the iron rangers located at park entrances.

And don’t forget - this Black Friday, enjoy a Free Park Entrance Day at any Kansas state park on Nov. 24. KDWPT, in partnership with REI, invites you to “OptOutside” and spend this Black Friday outdoors, hiking, biking, or just relaxing at a Kansas state park.

Post a picture of you and your family at one of the 26 Kansas state parks on Black Friday to Instagram or Twitter with the hashtags #myksstatepark and #optoutside and you’ll be entered into a drawing for a free cabin stay.

Need a license or permit? No problem. Simply visit us online at www.ksoutdoors.com, or stop by one of the more than 600 license vendors across the state to purchase what you need. To find a license vendor near you, visit ksoutdoors.com/License-Permits/Locations-to-Buy-License-Permits.
