CWD 2010
Is deer meat good to eat?

Venison can be excellent table fare, and it is lower in calories and saturated fat than beef or chicken. Steps you take in the field play a significant role in how your meat will taste. A clean kill and prompt field dressing are critical. (Make sure you tag the carcass before you move it from the kill site.) Cool the meat quickly and keep it clean, and you'll enjoy many tasty venison meals. Watch the video "How To Field Dress A Deer" to learn some excellent field care techniques.
