Or check out the new Badger Creek Trail just recently completed by the Kansas Trails Council, it's connected to our Bluestem Trail located in the Quarry Bay Area. Event is in Casner Creek Campground, lawn chairs, and insect repellant are recommended to fully enjoy this great event!

At the Fishing Derby 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. @ Lake Henry (Located just South of the Park Office.) – Learn fish ID’s, improve your casting skills and how to bait your hook from the KDWPT Fisheries Dept.  After the 20 minute talk kids will fish for their chance to win a fabulous prize!  (The Biggest Fish, Smallest Fish and Most Fish were some of our winners last year.) This your first time fishing?  You’ll be entered into a special First Time Fishermen Award for a special prize drawing.   Fishing Poles & Bait will be provided.

We’re hoping to have a FREE Hotdog sack lunch for the first 200 people again this year!

15th Annual Fall River Rendezvous

Step back to 1817, a time with the mountain man and the American Indians walked the recently purchased Louisiana Purchase. A time when Lewis and Clark had finished their exploration, and others were wanting to follow in their footsteps. The event interprets 1800-1840 with a traditional rendezvous when Mountain Men and American Indians camped together to trade for needed supplies from the fur companies. Activities will include Indian and Mountain Men Encampments, Historical Traders, Blackpowder Shoot, Tomahawk Throw, Skillet Throw for the Ladies, and a Kids Gold Rush. Come out to Fall River State Park and step back to 1817.
