Annual Halloween Campout October 24th and 25th at Elk City State Park. Enjoy camping, hiking, boating, fishing or just relaxing. Friday and Saturdays events include a hotdog fee and auction with all proceeds and donations going to Park Improvement Team to purchase playground and recreational equipment. Saturday's activities starts off with a free breakfast from 7:30 - 9:00 am. and after the Grand HalloweenParade in Independence events include cakewalks, childrens games and activities, a Chili Cook-Off/Feed, Hayrack Ride and Campsite Decoration Contest. T he evening concludes with a drawing for a Free Annual Vehicle and Annual Camping Permit.
