Please join us on the Flint Hills Trail September 17th for a brief horse ride. Riders will meet at Allegawaho Memorial Heritage Park near Council Grove, ride the 2-mile Kanza Heritage Trail around this historic site, camp overnight, and then head east on the Flint Hills Trail to Bushong Trailhead. Itinerary - 

Friday: Primitave camping area opens at 4 pm at Allegewaho Memorial Heritage Park near Council Grove. Ride/hike the 2-mile Kanza Heritage Trail around this historic site. Potluck dinner Friday evening, 6:30 pm, with presentation on history of area - bring lawn chairs!

Saturday: Day parking available at Allegawaho Park . Be in the saddle by 10 am, and ready to ride the 2-mile Kanza Heritage Trail; then head either west to Council Grove on the Flint Hills Trail, or east towards Bushong. Riders may go as far as they wish, then turn around and return to Allegawaho. Campers and trailers must be off the premises by 5pm. Please practice "Leave no trace" camping.
