LOVEWELL STATE PARK NEWS, NOTES AND HAPPENINGS!! Updated weekly.

Lovewell State Park office hours are 8 am to 4:30pm Monday thru Friday, closed Saturday and Sunday. The State Park Office will be open weekends beginning April 29th.

After office hours, please utilize the self pay station for daily vehicle and campsite permits. After Hours location for hunting/fishing license and park permit purchases: Lovewell Marina (1/2 south, 1/4 east of office) Webb's Bait andTackle (1/2 north, 4 west, 9 south, 4 west of office). Kansas Dept of Wildlife Parks & Tourism and the National Association of State Park Directors have partnered topresent a new nationwide event, “Let's Camp America” on Saturday, May 6th. Designated state parks in Kansas are hosting various events on this day, to promote healthy activities in the outdoors. Lovewell State Park is hosting a "just for fun" 5K Run/Walk Predict event, free for all ages. Registration will be at the Willow Group Shelter at Lovewell State Park beginning at 8:30 am where participants will predict their finish time. The 5K run/walk will start promptly at 9am. Free coloring books, promoting healthy activities in Kansas State Parks, will be available and were provided by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas. This will also be one of several Free Park Entrance days for the 2017 season. A vehicle permit is not required to enter any of the Kansas State Parks on Saturday, May 6th. Camping fees are still required if camping overnight. Questions can be directed to the Lovewell State Park Office (785) 753-4971. If notified in advance, the department will have an interpreter available for the hearing impaired. To request an interpreter, call the TDD Service at 1-800-766-3777. Campsite Reservations for the 2017 season began on Friday, December 16th, and reservable campsites are already completely booked for Memorial Weekend and nearly all booked for the July 4th weekend!     

All utility campgrounds and restroom/shower facilities are now open for the season!  A public shower/restroom facility is also located at the State Park Maintenance Building (just south of the office).

Lovewell Marina and Grill is now open for the season, Monday thru Thursday 7am to 2pm; Friday/Saturday 7am to 9pm; and Sunday 7am to 7pm.

Lovewell Reservoir is nearly 2 feet above conservation pool. Water temp is estimated at 52°. 

Camping Cabin reservations are available up to 364 days in advance. 2017 campsite reservations for the Walleye Point, Cottonwood, and North Willow Utility Campgrounds are available April thru September at www.reserveamerica.com, or by calling the office during business hours. Remember, Kansas residents can purchase their Annual Park Passport at a reduced rate with vehicle registration at the courthouse!

Frontier, Pioneer, Pine Ridge and Sunrise Camping Cabins are designated as a "PET FRIENDLY" cabin. Customers who wish to bring their pets for their stay at these Camping Cabins will need to choose the "Pet Friendly" option on the online reservation page (or request it during a telephone reservation), and pay an add'l fee of $50.00. All other cabins remain as "No Pets Allowed". Pets must be kept outside in a kennel or on a secured chain or leash.
