    You can hike, bike, or many enjoy riding their horses starting at the Saddle Ridge Horse Camp area. You can observe native plants, the view of the lake in some places, and may even see some native wildlife. There are four different loops of trail systems: NW blue trail, SE red trail, SW red trail, and the Outlet blut loop. Vehicle permits are required for entry.

    This trail loops along a portion of Craig Creek, featuring woodlands dominated by post and blackjack oaks. Lichen-covered sandstone outcroppings cover the forest floor. The forest's open canopy is broken by grass openings typical of the Cross Timbers region. The land is gently rolling and offers the hiker or mountain biker a moderate challenge.

    Terrain: Crushed rock and gentle grades for the first 1/2 mile to the first overlook; natural surface with moderate slopes for the next 3/4 mile to the second overlook. 

    Trail Activities: Walking, photography; no motorized vehicles, except for motorized wheelchairs.  Leads to two scenic overlooks. Stay on the trail to protect you and the fragile environment. Take plenty of water and sun protection; wear durable shoes or boots.

    Location of Start: west end of parking area

    Other Details: This trail is an out and back trail. Total distance will be 2.5 miles if the full length is hiked in both directions.
