2005 permits expire Dec. 31; 2006 permits on sale Dec. 17

During the Oct. 15 through April 15 trout season, thousands of Kansas anglers frequent 23 specially-stocked locations to enjoy a fishing experience normally associated with mountain streams. By purchasing trout permits ($12.15), these anglers make possible one of the most popular programs offered by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. A generous stocking schedule helps ensure that fishermen regularly take home their five-fish daily limits.

The Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks reminds anglers that 2005 trout permits will expire Dec. 31. Anyone fishing for trout at these locations must have a valid trout permit.

The 2006 trout permits will go on sale Dec. 17. Fishing licenses, hunting licenses, annual park permits, and other issues also go on sale Dec. 17, and are valid from the date purchased through Dec. 31, 2006.
