Modern cabins have been added to the recreational offerings at Cross Timbers and Milford state parks. With heat, air conditioning, full bathroom and shower facilities, and kitchens, the cabins offer an alternative to pitching a tent or hauling a trailer to the park. Contact these parks or Cedar Bluff , Cheney , Eisenhower , El Dorado , Lovewell , Perry , Prairie Dog , Tuttle Creek , or Webster state parks about cabin reservations. Wilson State Park should also have cabins available before the end of the year.

New playgrounds are going up at five state parks. The structures and rubberized safety surfacing are completely installed at Cross Timbers State Park. Structures are in and surfacing scheduled for installation this month at Fall River , Eisenhower and Crawford state parks. Scheduled for completion in 2005 are two playgrounds at El Dorado State Park and one at Tuttle Creek State Park.
