KDWP CLASSES OFFER INTRODUCTION TO WATERFOWL HUNTING

One-day classes scheduled at Lovewell State Park, Marais des Cygnes Wildlife Area

The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks wants to introduce interested novices to the world of waterfowl hunting. The department is offering one-day classes at two locations: Sept. 9 at Lovewell State Park and Oct. 7 at Marais des Cygnes Wildlife Area .

Each class will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. The course will cover use of decoys in water and field locations, blinds, laws and regulations, waterfowling traditions and ethics, and duck and goose calling instruction. The classes will also provide shotgun instruction, and students will get a chance to shoot clay targets from a blind.

All ammunition, calls, books, supplies, and lunch will be provided. Full details and directions will be provided upon registration. The fee for the class is $25. To register, contact the department’s Hunter Education Section at 620/672-5911.
