WILDCAT FOOTBALL FANS WILD ABOUT TUTTLE CREEK STATE PARK

Proximity to Manhattan doubles the fun for many park users

After Labor Day weekend, parks typically tend to start winding down for the season, but at Tuttle Creek State Park , a second season is only just beginning. With the emergence of Kansas State football onto the national spotlight during the 1990s, along came many campers.

Camping at Tuttle Creek and catching a Wildcat football game is now a perfect match. The campgrounds are only minutes away from Bill Snyder Family Stadium, and it's more fun to "tailgate" in a state park than a parking lot. The park is rich with fall color during the fall football season, but no color is more prominent than purple.

Those who wish to camp at the park during that period should make reservations because the park usually fills throughout September and early October. Phone 785-539-7941 for more information.
