Organizational meeting set for Nov. 15 in Abilene
Quail Unlimited organizers are sponsoring a meeting in Abilene Nov. 15 to organize a new chapter. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the La Fiesta Restaurant.

“I wanted to become involved with Quail Unlimited because of the different types of opportunities they can offer to the community I live in, including youth activities, wildlife conservation and, potentially, upland bird dog field trials,” explained Tonya Stroda, meeting organizer.

Quail Unlimited has been addressing the habitat needs of upland game birds since 1981 and has been integral in the very formation of such programs as the Northern Bobwhite Conservation Initiative and Practice CP33 (Habitat Buffers for Upland Birds). Much of the success of these and other types of wildlife-friendly conservation measures and programs has been attributed to the dedication of the over 300 Quail Unlimited chapters throughout our nation.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, Quail Unlimited (QU) is a nonprofit conservation organization dedicated to the wise use and management of America’s wild quail, doves, upland game birds and other forms of wildlife. Their national and local support base is over 50,000 members strong, and through the fundraising efforts, dedication, devotion and sacrifice of each member, QU has succeeded in compiling quite a list of accomplishments pertaining to quail and wildlife conservation, including sponsoring a number of youth conservation programs.
