Shooting, prizes, youth events, lunch and dinner highlight event

On Saturday, June 16, the Geary County Fish and Game Association (GCFGA) will host the Kansas Muzzleloading Association State Championship Muzzleloading Shotgun Shoot. The event will be held at Sportsmen's Acres Range, on Highway K-244 Spur near Milford Reservoir.

The shooting starts at 10 a.m. and will include a 25-shot wobble trap and a 25-shot five-stand for a $20 entry fee. Special youth events -- including air gun, Laser Shot, and shotgun shooting -- will be free.

Lunch will be available during the day, and in the evening, the GCFGA will host a dinner and award prizes.

Those who want to arrive early will be provided free camping space on Friday night. For more information, phone Ed Augustine at 785-238-5500 or email him at, or phone Don Garrison at 785-238-2894 or email him at
