Event part of Kansas Wildscape's O.K. Kids Days
LAWRENCE -- Kansas Wildscape has announced the winners of its 2007 Outdoor Art Contest. Silvia Bennett was the winner of the six and under age category; Brock Butel won the seven through nine group; and Elaine Goodrick won the 10 through 13 age category.

This year’s theme was "Favorite Outdoor Scene." The contest was open to all youth who attended any of the many O.K. Kids Days that occurred earlier this year across the state. This year marks the third year the contest has been held and the eighth year of O.K. Kids Days events featuring outdoor activities such as fishing derbies, zoo presentations, mini-triathlons, and birding festivals free of charge to youngsters. More than 15,000 kids participated in O.K. Kids Days this year.

The program was implemented by the Kansas Wildscape Foundation to encourage kids to enjoy the outdoors. Events are held in spring and summer from April through September.
