STATE FARM AIDS KANSAS WILDSCAPE’S O.K. KIDS WITH GRANT
Insurance company offers monetary, personal help with events
LAWRENCE -- State Farm Insurance Company has approved a $20,000 grant to support Kansas Wildscape Foundation’s Outdoor Kansas for Kids (O.K. Kids) Program. The O.K. Kids program is a growing statewide effort with approximately 50 event locations where youth can participate in a variety of outdoor activities. State Farm has recognized the program's future growth potential as well as the need for additional help.
This year, State Farm has already awarded more than $3 million to various youth-oriented programs, with plans to award another $2 million before the year is over. In addition, State Farm agents are encouraged to offer assistance as volunteers at local O.K. Kids events
“State Farm is clearly dedicated to youth, and it is no surprise that they have stepped up to help the O.K. Kids program continue to grow and improve,” says Rebecca Reichenbach, O.K. Kids Event Coordinator. “With about 50 event sites across Kansas and more kids and families participating each year, we knew that it was important to find someone willing to provide us with monetary support and to work hand-in-hand with kids at events.
Each O.K. Kids event location plans its own events and is responsible for finding volunteers to help put the day on. For more information about Kansas Wildscape and O.K. Kids days, check visit www.kansaswildscape.org online or phone Rebecca Reichenbach at 866-655-4377.
