JUNCTION CITY TO HOST GOVERNOR’S GOLF AND FISHING CLASSIC JUNE 13-14
Participants asked to contact event organizers by June 4
The 12th Annual Governor’s Golf and Fishing Classic will be held June 13-14 at Rolling Meadows Golf Course and Milford Reservoir, near Junction City. Participants may enjoy a round of golf at Rolling Meadows Golf Course on Friday, June 13. On Saturday morning, anglers will compete for the Governor’s Cup, which will be presented at lunch following the event.
Fishing Classic participants must attend a brief meeting at 5:30 Friday evening to pair guides and contestants. A barbecue dinner and auction will follow the meeting.
Fishing tournament participants will be limited to three contestants (including guide) per boat. Each boat will comprise a team, and each member of a winning team will receive a prize.
Team prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
- 1st Place -- heaviest walleye stringer wins the Governor’s Cup and $1,500 cash;
- 2nd Place -- heaviest wiper stringer wins $1,000 cash;
- 3rd Place -- heaviest catfish stringer wins $500 cash;
- 4th Place -- most fish of all species wins entries into the 2009 Governor’s Golf and Fishing Classic.
The Fishing Classic will begin at the South Boat Ramp Area at Milford Lake to check in for each event. Boats may launch at 6 a.m., and all state licenses, park permits, and other statewide regulations will be in effect.
