OCTOBER STATE PARK EVENTS EMPHASIZE AUTUMN OUTDOOR FUN
Events feature field trials, trail rides, fishing tournaments, and Halloween
As fall approaches, Kansas state park events begin to taper off, but several special events are on the calendar for October. Dog field trials, equestrian events, fishing tournaments, and Halloween entertainment highlight this October's events.

- Oct. 3-5 -- Topeka Retriever Club field trial at Eisenhower State Park;
- Oct. 3-5 -- North American Trail Riders Flint Hills competitive horse trail ride at Tuttle Creek State Park;
- Oct. 4-5 -- Crappie Busters fishing tournament at Eisenhower State Park;
- Oct. 4-5 -- High Plains Bassmasters fishing tournament at Cedar Bluff State Park;
- Oct. 4 -- Dooley Equestrian Trail Ride at Hillsdale State Park;
- Oct. 11 -- Shawnee Mission Bassmasters fishing tournament at Eisenhower State Park;
- Oct. 11 -- Monster Myths By Moonlight Halloween event at Milford State Park;
- Oct. 18 -- Kansas Bass Chapter Federation "Team Series 2nd Chance" fishing tournament at Wilson State Park; and
- Oct. 25-26 -- Heartland Coursing Association dog field trials at Clinton State Park.
